By using a specific set of tools, we can root out the negative thinking which is causing us to experience lack and transform our lives on all levels and attract a bounty of abundance.

Steps toward a Prosperity Consciousness

1. Set aside at least twenty minutes a day to study and visualize your new life.

2. Buy a loose leaf binder and label it “Dreams Unlimited.” This is where you will workshop the life you are creating for yourself and get clear on what you really want. This will be the place where you write your affirmations, make notes about the process, collect uplifting quotes, make collages of the things you are manifesting, and keep track of the things you accomplish.

3. Develop an affirmation for yourself based on what you are attempting to attract into your life. It should be present tense and contain only positive statements. An example would be “I am rich beyond my wildest dreams.”

4. Write out your affirmation at least ten times a day and put it in your notebook. When you are tempted to dwell on the negative, repeat it silently over and over in your head while you take deep breaths.

5. Ignore the naysayers, dream killers, and negative people who tell you that it can’t be done. If someone else has ever done it before, then you can too.

6. Spend a few quiet minutes every day breathing deeply and visualizing your goal as already completed. Picture exactly how you want it to be, but be willing to accept something better. Don’t limit yourself.

7. Read books on creative visualization, prosperity consciousness, and positive thinking.

8. Live “as if.” If a circumstance in your life is not how you want it, withdraw your attention from it. Whatever you focus on expands. Live as if all of your dreams are a reality now.

9. “Follow your bliss” Experience the joy life offers at every turn if you know how to look for it. Share your love where ever you can. Wear comfortable clothes in colors that you love. Drink a wonderful cup of tea and watch a sunset. Do only that which brings you joy.

10. Let it go. Trust that the Universe has heard your request and is doing everything It can to bring it about. Forget about it. Don’t worry or fret. Live in the moment and watch how all of your needs are met. When you lose faith, call on your childlike resources and pretend.

Tips

* Whatever you focus on expands. Focus on the money you *do* have, the things you *do* know, the people who *do* love you, etc, and ignore the rest.
* You have only one life to live. Live it free of misery, negative ideas and people, and choose to take control of what you experience now.
* You have an infinite untapped power that will guide you and direct you if you allow it to.
* Trust yourself.
* Take quiet time every day.
* “You’ll see it when you believe it.” Let go of negative programming.
* The only limits that exist for you are the ones you create.

Debt can leave people feeling over-whelmed and stressed out. So before we begin to work on creating prosperity, I believe it would be a good idea to create an orderly debt repayment plan or a debit clearance account.

I recall when my debt seemed to be eating up my entire paycheck, leaving me with nothing. However after some research, I discovered a way to to retire my debt. Now for the sake of this message, let us consider your mortgage or house payment as an investment, NOT a debt.

As a former debt collector I will let you know, collectors do not care about the excuses as to why you are in debt or what circumstances are preventing you from clearing your debt. What they care about and truly enjoy, is that you have a concrete plan to eliminate the debt.

Here is some insight I have received from Bob Proctor.

1. Create a Debt Clearance Account – take 20% or Monday’s earning and put it directly to your Debt Clearance Account.

2. Sit down and draft a letter which you will send to all of your creditors, informing of your plans to settle your debt. Be sure to create a list of all your creditors and determine how much of the 20% they will each be getting. Here is an example of a letter you could
use:

“Dear CBV Collections (or whomever)

As you know, I am in debt to you for $_________, and I intend to pay you in full, plus interest. In order to achieve this goal, I have been devising a plan during the past few days to put myself in a better financial position. To this end, I have opened a “Debt
Clearance Account” (DCA), and twenty percent of my income is going directly into that account. That will enable me to have sufficent resources to live on, without worry or stress, and it will prevent me from falling into further debt.

Each week (or month) you will receive a check for $_____ from my DCA, until my account with you is clear. I am aware that this is not the figure I had previously agreed to pay you, but I’m sure you will be understanding, and appreciate what I doing.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. I am quite excited about my new plans and if you would like to have me review them with you so that you might help others who are in debt, I would be pleased to do so.

Thank you in advance for you kind cooperation.

Have a wonderful day!

Sincerely

{!firstname}”

Be sure when drafting your letter that you write so it sounds like a fact (which it is) and not merely a request. It is you who is in charge of you finances not your creditor.

When sending your letter, make sure that is it neatly typed and enclose your first payment. If for some reason that your creditor is being an unreasonable person and they call you with threats of court action, hold your ground because there is no court in the
country that would not congratulate you for taking such action to achieve you goal of becoming financially independent.

Now pat yourself on the back as you are on your way to creating a new life for you and your loved ones!

Cheers,

MLM Truth & History – by Greg Stewart

Enlightenment vs. En-dark-enment

The most fundamental fact of life in our world today is change. As a rule, people are reluctant to change. We resist it, we like to stay within our comfort zone of what is known and accepted by most. THIS IS HUMAN NATURE.

But it’s true that what you resist will persist, especially when you resist a better method whose time has come. In almost every field of endeavor, the arts, sciences, medicine, and business, most new ideas have always met with resistance and rejection at first. The more unique and revolutionary the idea, the louder and stronger the opposition to it.

People have always been afraid and even ignorant about ideas and methods that may result in change. Fear of change caused ridicule of Christopher Columbus, Louis Pasteur, Thomas Edison and Albert Einstein. There are other examples of how fear of change had effects on progress.

In the 1800’s, people bought what they needed at small, family owned shops. Then a man named W.T. Grant had an idea that created change. What if we combined all these separate, little shops by making them individual departments under one roof, in one large store? A new and better way of doing things. Customers loved it.

The individual merchants who owned the old-fashioned retail stores saw their businesses decline. The shopkeepers fought back politically. There were thousands of them with thousands of votes, and they lobbied for their right to do things the same old way.

They finally got the local and state governments to outlaw Grant’s department stores. Eventually, Grant’s department store won out. If there is a better way it will persist.
In the early 1960’s franchising was a revolutionary new technology in business, and it was also met with resistance. Newspapers and magazines wrote what a scam and rip-off franchising was. Stories of people who lost their life savings to some franchise were everywhere. There was a strong move to make franchising illegal. In fact, franchising actually came within 11 votes of being outlawed by Congress.

Today this so-called scam is responsible for over 34 percent of all retail sales in North America. Franchises sell nearly 800 billion dollars worth of goods and services today. Every industry goes through an evolution similar to this. Chiropractors were considered quacks in the 1970’s, the stock market was considered shady and a form of gambling, and the first newspaper in British North America, The Public Occurrence (1690), was suppressed by the governor of Massachusetts. Now, we almost can’t do without these industries.

The Pioneers

Like all-powerful concepts, Network Marketing has also met resistance due to a lack of understanding. There is no mystery to Network Marketing. It’s just another form of sales and distribution. Network Marketing is 50 years young. In the early 1940’s a company by the name of California Vitamins recognized that all their new sales representatives coming aboard were friends and family of their existing sales force, primarily because they wanted the product at wholesale cost. They also discovered that it was easier to create a sales force of a lot of people who each sold a small amount of product than it was to find a few superstars who could sell a lot of products.

So they combined those two ideas and designed a sales compensation structure that encouraged their salespeople to invite new representatives from satisfied customers, most of whom were family and friends, who each had the same right to offer the product and representative status to others, which allowed the sales force to grow exponentially. The company rewarded them for the sales produced by their entire group or network of sales representatives. Network Marketing was born! A few years later, the company changed its name to NutraLite Food Supplement Corporations.

In 1956, NutraLite was joined in Network Marketing by Dr. Forrest Shaklee to gain a broader distribution of the food supplements he had developed.

Not long after, in 1959, former NutraLite distributors Rich DeVoss and Jay Van Andel started the Amway company as the American Way of marketing products. Like many truly innovative breakthroughs, the development of true network marketing was an accident.

Abuses of exponential growth haunted network marketing for years and it is still misunderstood today. One of the first abuses of the concept of exponential growth to generate income may have been the chain letter craze that swept the U.S. after World War I. The letters promised great profit if you would send a dime or a dollar to the person at the bottom.

The chain letters spread as far as Europe, and by the 1930’s the U.S. post office estimated that 10 million letters were being mailed each day. Postal Authorities and law enforcement agencies battled the fraudulent schemes and the chain letter phenomenon began to subside in the early 1940s. Unfortunately, this scam spawned schemes which came to be known as pyramids, where money was given for the right to involve others, as no valid product which was being purchased from the company.

In 1974, Senator Walter Mondale declared such companies to be the nation’s number one consumer fraud. Law enforcement agencies moved quickly to clean up the abuses. In the mid 1970’s, with no clear understanding of what constituted a legitimate use of network marketing, the Federal Trade Commission and state agencies across the nation turned their eyes to almost all network marketing companies. In 1975, the FTC filed suit against Amway, alleging that the company was an illegal pyramid and that its refusal to sell its products in retail stores constituted a restraint of trade.

Amway spent four years and millions of dollars in legal fees to clear its name. In 1979 the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) ruled that Amway was not a pyramid, that its revenue was generated from the sale of its products, and the FTC acknowledged network marketing as a legal and efficient distribution system. Network Marketing exploded in the next decade.

Who’s Involved in Network Marketing?

Today there are thousands of Network Marketing companies operating throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, South America, the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Israel, Japan and the Pacific Basin. Little Malaysia alone has more than 800 active Network Marketing companies. Network Marketing is reported to be a $100 billion dollar industry, internationally, made up of FORTUNE 500 and New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) companies.

In 1993, Amway was the fastest growing foreign company in Japan with sales over $1 billion. Discovery Toys markets their products solely by Network Marketing, with sales figures in excess of $100 million. Sprint, MCI and AT&T make their long distance phone service available through Network Marketing companies. The A.L. Williams Company utilized Network Marketing and astounded the insurance industry by outselling Prudential, a giant in the industry, in four short years.

Traditional sales method companies such as Colgate-Palmolive and the Gillette Company have Network Marketing subsidiaries. Rexall Drug is now utilizing the Network Marketing method of distribution with its subsidiary, Rexall Showcase. Network Marketing companies such as Melaleuca outperformed Liz Claiborne, The Limited and John Paul Mitchell while Nu Skin bested the likes of Maybelline, Dow Chemical and Matrix. Mary Kay is bigger than Johnson & Johnson, Amway is bigger than Revlon, and Avon is bigger than Estee Lauder. Sam Walton, the founder of Wal-Mart is quoted as saying, “I’d rather run a profitable business in an unconventional industry than an unprofitable business in a conventional industry.”

Network Marketing has evolved in other ways, as well. Companies that began as direct selling companies are now utilizing networking marketing compensation plans. Some examples include Avon, the $3 billion cosmetic giant, Watkins Products, which had been direct selling for nearly 100 years before it converted to network marketing, and Encyclopedia Britannica.

One reason for the decline of direct selling is that beginning in the 1970’s, distributors making calls on people found that no one was home. Women, long standing as the customer backbone of direct sales, had entered the work force, leaving few at home during the day. Companies watching these societal trends moved quickly to revise their marketing plans to network marketing, which allows for more informal methods of sales and greater compensation.

Network Marketing Companies have actually pioneered entire industries: natural vitamin supplements, nutrition and diet drinks, concentrated and environmentally friendly household cleaners. One network marketing company almost single-handedly created the billion dollar home water filtration business.

The Company Wins, too

Why are so many companies utilizing network marketing as their chosen method of marketing? Simply stated, it’s more efficient! They do not pay for marketing, distribution or sales until after the sale is made and the product is delivered. Compare that to traditional marketing where a company can spend millions of dollars on advertising, as well as all costs associated with an employee based sales force, such as benefits, support staff, communication, travel and office, before any product is sold. Charles Givens, financial expert and best selling author of Wealth Without Risk, points out that 80 percent of the cost of getting a product to consumers today is the result of marketing expenses. Companies are looking to move their cost as close to the point of sale as possible. Network Marketing companies replace traditional advertising and marketing costs with sales commissions to the independent representatives, paid after the product is sold.

In her best selling book, The Popcorn Report, Faith Popcorn explains additional societal trends driving the success of Network Marketing. Her book describes consumers as having a desire to cocoon and stay at home. She believes that they wish to avoid crowded malls and traffic jams, and are looking for the convenience of direct delivery of the product that Network Marketing provides. Advertising Age magazine states that the recommendation from a friend is the most powerful form of advertising; that is what Network Marketing is all about.

The changing work place has demonstrated that there is no security in the traditional corporate structure and career path. In the United States over 3,100 jobs are lost each day due to downsizing. Automation and technological advances are streamlining business and changing entire industries. Millions of people will be out of work searching for the same kinds of jobs their former employers just eliminated, in another company that just hasn’t yet streamlined. This is postponing the inevitable; In fact, 47 percent of the companies that made up the Fortune 500 in 1980 are no longer in operation today, which represents a net loss of more than five million jobs!

Technological advances affect the work forces of entire industries. One example is the vinyl record business. In 1985, vinyl records supported a $24 billion a year industry. Today it is all but extinct, having been replaced with producers of cassettes tapes and compact discs. The steel and copper industries have suffered with the advent of new plastics and alloys. The functions computers are able to execute have caused the replacement of millions of workers. Robotic technology similarly has taken its toll in the workplace. One robot can replace twenty human workers and extinguishes the need for companies to pay exorbitant amounts in employee benefits. Man Power Inc., a temporary service, is now one of the largest employers in the world because companies are finding it less expensive to hire temporary employees and thereby avoid paying benefits to permanent employees.

Marketing on a part-time effort can provide a financial cushion of residual income to protect oneself from such events. A recent Wall Street Journal survey found that 80 percent of the work force want to own their own business and 40 percent surveyed would like to work at home. This is exactly what network marketing provides. People are searching for ways to build a future that develops leadership and provides a balance in their lives for their families and each other, without sacrificing their sanity in the process.

How Does It Work?

In network marketing, you share information and develop personal and professional contacts. You are rewarded for sharing information that results in product sales. Network Marketing empowers you to build your own networking sales organization from your personal and professional contacts, which also empowers everyone to do the same, creating exponential growth of your network. You can earn income from the successful efforts of your network of business associates. Unlike conventional Corporations with one chief executive at the top, in Network Marketing everyone is the CEO of his or her own independent organization.

A network marketing company supplies the product. Then they join in partnership with a network of independent representatives, each one in business for themselves. The company takes care of the research and development, finances, management, public relations, production, warehousing, packaging, quality control, administration, shipping, data processing, the accounting and payment of representative sales commission checks.

Cooperation vs. Competition

One of the reasons for the success of Network Marketing in the 1990’s is that it is based on cooperation, not competition. Unlike in traditional business, career advancement in network marketing comes directly from helping to create success with those that you introduce to the company. Network Marketing is sharing information that results in product sales. People involve themselves because they want to finally be compensated for what their efforts are really worth. They’re involved because somebody cared enough about them to show them the awesome opportunity of network marketing. They get involved because they were ready to make a change.
Why Hasn’t the Truth About Network Marketing Been Told?
People resist change and are fearful of what is not fully understood. People are comfortable with what is known and accepted by most.

The truth is that most people in power today have an overriding fear of the loss of their own power. Network Marketing is about empowerment of the individual.
Is it really your best interest they have at heart? Remember what happened with W.T. Grant, franchising, and the first newspaper? Most new concepts have always met with resistance and rejection at first.

Newspapers, magazines, radio and television earn their primary profits from their advertisers. Is it in the media’s best interest to say anything positive about an industry that does not advertise? Do you suppose major traditional marketing companies that are receiving increased competition from network marketing companies are excited? Whose side do you suppose the media would take to protect their advertising dollar?

A few years ago a network marketing company that sold personal care products became the attention of the media and several state Attorney Generals. Their sales were approaching $500 million dollars. These sales were being taken away from companies such as Revlon, Max Factor, Estee Lauder and others in the health and beauty aids industry. Do you believe the competition was pleased with the success of a network marketing company that was not spending multi-millions of dollars on advertising as they had traditionally done? Furthermore, network marketing companies were bypassing the department stores and malls and going direct to the consumer’s living rooms with sharing, caring service and timesaving convenience. What if you were one of the brokers, retailers, wholesalers, media people or any other person whose job or businesses were being threatened because network marketing was a new and better way of doing things? What would you do?

If you had a friend in the State Attorney general’s office would you call them? If you or your company had contributed to any industry lobbyist, political action committee or had media contacts might they be contacted, too? What if, in fact, your job were in jeopardy either as the VP of Sales or as one of the executive staff who might have to answer to stockholders and explain why your market share was being taken away by some network marketing company and your position, your power and your income were at stake? Do you suppose these strategies are ever used against a competitor? How many votes do you suppose an Attorney General would risk by focusing on a network marketing company that employed many people and paid a great amount of local and state taxes – in a different state?

Just as in any business or industry, there are scams and schemes that hurt the industry image. Real estate has had its scams. Banking and Savings and Loans have had their improprieties. Ministries have had abuses for self-serving purposes. The stock market has had its insider trading scandals. Why should network marketing be any different?
Look at the company, the product, its management and their past history. Understand the commitment that is necessary to achieve success and residual income. This advice is just as valid in network marketing as in anything else.

There are many myths about the industry of network marketing and the companies involved. It is true that many recognized traditional companies have started subsidiaries, such as Gillette, Colgate-Palmolive, Rexall and thousands of other companies that are using network marketing as their preferred method of distribution, creating sales of approximately $100 billion dollars. It is often stated that Coca-Cola, Goodyear, IBM, Firestone, and General Motors are involved in network marketing with their own divisions. Actually, these companies are suppliers of products to companies that utilize network marketing, such as Amway. MCI, U.S. Sprint and AT&T supply long distance service to network marketing companies that are rebillers. Due to the high cost of real estate for showrooms, Toyota of Japan uses direct sales to market directly to the consumer, but not network marketing.

Network Marketing is the new way to financial freedom. You’ll never create residual income and freedom from the traditional job. Even professionals are trading their time for money; if they are not seeing clients or patients, they are not getting paid. Most income is temporary and it is easy to determine if your income is temporary – just stop working for 90 days. If your income stops or slows down, you have temporary income.

In network marketing you can stop trading time for money. Once you develop a solid network of sales representatives, you will create ongoing residual income. This can give you the freedom to do what you want when you want to.

It’s interesting how resistant we are to change. We want to stay in our comfort zones even when we’re miserable.

It’s been said network marketing is the next step in the evolution of free enterprise. But there is one thing we can always be assured of: the most fundamental fact of life in our world today is that change is inevitable!

Global Resorts Network has now proven itself to be a reputable option for anyone looking for discounted travel and/or an amazing business opportunity. Their Perpetual Leverage pay plan and remarkable product value leaves all the others in the dust.

If you have not heard of Global Resorts Network or don’t know what we are about you must be living on Mars. GRN has teamed the most amazing travel membership with the most lucrative business opportunity every created. Global Resorts Network has top network marketers dropping their current programs and joining us on a daily basis. I know as I’ve had my leaders in my previous business drop their 30k/month income. I left my 3-5k which was growing nicely.

GRN has done something that has never been done before in Network Marketing. GRN is the only company that has ever taken a proven retail product, (which has been successfully sold for 20 years, to thousands of people), reduced the cost and added a business opportunity.

You know as well as I do usually when a product goes network marketing the price goes up and value goes down. Not with Global Resort Network the value and product remain the same only the cost has come down. Insert the best pay plan ever created and you have a recipe for millions.

Global Resorts gives the normal family the ability to truly travel like royalty for pennies on the dollar. Our 4 and 5 star resorts are worldwide, you can choose from over 5000 locations in 70 different countries. 1 week stays range from just $298 to $699. This is for as many people as the unit will hold. Not per person.

On average you will be saving $1,000 plus per vacation. I have personally seen savings as high as $2,400 for one trip. There are no monthly costs, or annual fees for the membership. Just a low one time up front cost. The platinum membership provides you with endless holidays. Up to 52 weeks of use, that’s right you can travel every week of the year. Not one or two weeks like most timeshares or other memberships. You will also get 3 vouchers a year to hand out to your family or friends. Try that with your timeshare. Did I mention there are no black out dates you can travel when ever you want.

Now I would like to touch on the business end of Global Resorts Network. Our compensation plan is called Perpetual Leverage. This is the most incredible pay plan I have ever seen. You honestly have to see it to fully understand it.

To see full details of the perpetual leverage comp plan follow this link. http://www.my-traveltowealth-solution.com.

Global Resorts and Perpetual Leverage are going to create many 6 figure incomes in 2008; I feel 7 figure incomes are not out of the question.

Perpetual leverage makes this a true team environment. Not like a 1up or 2up where your downline becomes your competition. You will never pass up a member you introduced to the business. Commissions will roll up from all over your downline, for unlimited depths and widths.

For more information on Global Resorts Network, Perpetual Leverage and how we can help you achieve your goals, visit http://www.my-traveltowealth-solution.com.

Melissa was a stellar agent in a small real estate agency. After years of being the top earner in her company, she moved from that small agency into one of the largest real estate firms in the country. Melissa felt like she was moving up in the world and had high expectations to achieve even more in her new job. Unfortunately, after a few months of lackluster sales, Melissa felt like she wasn’t living up to it. She couldn’t understand why – she was doing the same kind of prospecting, honing her closing skills and working longer hours. But she didn’t know exactly what her objective was. Melissa was missing a goal. She was trying to achieve a vague dream, without a map or action plan to reach it.

1.	Define your dream.

Many of us dream about earning more money, getting that promotion or changing careers. Have you ever asked yourself why it is that once you have the additional money, the new position or a different career, you still aren’t happy? The reason is probably because you haven’t defined what your dream really is. It might not be the extra cash but the means to surround your family with comfort; it might not be about getting promoted, but being recognized for a job well-done; changing careers could be because you think that a new career will give you the excitement and enthusiasm you have lost.

It’s not until you know what your dream truly is that you will be able to do the work necessary to achieve it and receive the satisfaction and rewardsyou deserve. Now, without censoring yourself, say out loud: “My dream is…”

2.	Convert your dream into a goal.

The difference between a dream and a goal is a written date. Writing down a specific goal and a date forces us to do things we might never have done. It permits us to measure our progress and keep us focused on reaching that dream.

Get a pen and paper and write down your specific dream or goal, along with the date when you are going to achieve it. If you won’t commit to paper and pen, you won’t be able to commit to the reality of accomplishing the task when faced with challenges. Write it down in your calendar or PDA so that you can keep track of your progress and make the efforts necessary to reach it.

3.	Write your goal on post-it notes and put them everywhere.

Each morning and evening before you go to sleep, read your goal. Envision yourself as that successful person. Feel the luxury of that new car. Smell the ocean from your dream vacation. See yourself sitting at the desk of your own company. Make that goal yours in your mind. When you write down your goal, make sure that it is specific and motivates you.

For example: “On April 30, 2008, I, Henry Smith, have been promoted to regional sales manager. I am in charge of a productive sales team, where each member is respectful of my position. My job is fulfilling and challenges me. I have the ability to balance the life I have at work and the life I have at home. I feel confident, secure and free to be myself.”

4.	Make a list of your assets and resources.

An asset could encompass your education, experience, or personality; it could include the people you know, your bank account, your personal appearance and even your car. If you have a hard time coming up with your assets, ask your friends, colleagues and family about your good qualities.

In Henry’s pursuit for a promotion to regional sales manager, he might say he is hard-working, determined, honest, organized and intelligent. He also has a good sense of humor and likes people. All of these qualities would be good for a manager.

Your resources, such as the people you know, your education and experience can help you achieve your goal. Henry knows that his neighbor Sam works in the same industry. He’s talked to him about sports, but has never brought up talk about their industry or asked how Sam got to his position as vice president. Perhaps Sam would be willing to help, or knows someone who could. Your education is another resource – does your school have an alumni association or networking events that you could attend? Do you need additional education to make your goal a reality?

5.	Write down the obstacles.

The moment you set a goal, you and others will find a million reasons why you can’t or shouldn’t go after it. Contrary to a popular book, you will not attract obstacles or the naysayers, just because you are aware of them. In fact, the purpose of preempting barriers will facilitate your recognizing them when they occur and not use them as excuses to desist.

For example, Henry’s obstacle list could include:
“I am afraid of failure.”
“I am too old for the job and no one will promote me.”
“I am too busy with my home life to put the time into getting promoted.”
“I am not experienced enough to lead a large staff.”

It is obvious that Henry wants something but is sabotaging himself with negative self-talk. Before he begins his action plan, Henry needs to work on his belief system and find out where it comes from.

6.	Write down why you want this goal.

Do you deserve to be happy and have what you want? What are you willing to sacrifice to achieve it? Do you want this more than anything else and are you willing to face anything to achieve it? If your “why” isn’t strong enough, you will not achieve your goal and will be able to blame the perceived obstacles.

Your why should look something like this: “I want to become regional vice president because I want to proud of my accomplishments. I want my family and friends to feel happy about my achievements. I want to do more for myself and my family, and by accomplishing this goal, I can provide them with the lifestyle they deserve.”

7. Write your action plan.

A book is read from the first page to the last, but goals are set from the end and work up to the beginning. Where do you want to be in twenty years, ten, three, one year, a month from now?

Most of us spend our time on putting out fires, helping others and dealing with life’s daily activities, many of which have nothing to do with our dreams. From now on I want you to focus, focus, focus. Everything you do should lead you to achieving your goal. Notice how you spend your money and what percent goes towards achieving that goal.

Now you know what your goal really is, you have written down the exact date and possess a strong action plan. Who do you have to call? What do you have to read? What do you have to buy? Who do you have to be so that you can take back your power? Guess what? It’s no secret – you are already that person…it’s just a matter of time!

I worked for a well know personal/business development company called, Peak Potentials Training. While there I must say I learned a lot to do with finances and one of the greatest things I learned was, “Pay yourself first“.

Let me repeat that, “Pay yourself first“! Not your bills or debts;but yourself! All to often I hear of people say that they wish they could afford to buy this or that! Well a lot of people work hard for their money and I’m assuming that you do too, so why should you not be able to buy that item you have been longing for?

Now by no means am I saying to ignore your bills/debts but be sure to pay yourself first. Here is something I learned a few years ago which has helped me tremendously. Get yourself 5 jars or even back accounts. I recommend ING Direct as it allows you to open multiple accounts under one name that you can manage easily online.

Label your jars or accounts Financial Freedom, Necessities, Education, Give, and Play. Below I explain how each account should be used. Beside each account there is a percentage. This percentage indicates the percentage of your income that should go into that account. It doesn’t matter if you get paid weekly, bi-weekly or monthly, each pay period, divide your income into these accounts.

Financial Freedom 15% – This is your golden egg! This is the money that you never touch until you hit retirement. This money should be put into a safe, interest baring account. An account that is guaranteed to grow with no risk of losing such as a GIC.

Necessities 40% – This is for your day-to-day living. With this money you pay your bills such as your mortgage/rent, utilities, car expenses, child care, groceries, etc and any debt. If you find it difficult to make all these payment with only 40% of your income then you need to consider either simplifying your life or generating addition income.

Education 15% – Yes…education is very important. I graduated from high school many years ago, however to this day, I take the time to learn new skills & techniques that help enrich my life. Whether it be buying a book on building strong relationships or a sales training seminar, I make sure that I learn something profound each month. I consider the world as my school and learn something new everyday, but still I find it empowering to learn from those whom have found success in different areas of life. This education does not have to be academical; it can be as simple and enjoyable as learning to master that hobby of yours to learning how to communicate better with others.

Savings 15% – This is different from your Financial Freedom Account mentioned above because you get to spend this money. This account is used for those big ticket items such as a luxurious vacation, a new television, a computer or whatever you want that carries a large price tag.

Give 5% – Simple enough, this account is used to give away. It can be money for a birthday gift, donate to your favorite charity or even give to your church. I often hear that it was better to give than to receive.

Play 10% – This account is a FUN account. I like to blow this money once a month…spoil myself with new clothes or a night out with the boys…whatever you like to do to spoil yourself…use this money to do it.

The above is not written in stone. You can adjust the percentages if you desire, but be sure 100% of your income is accounted for.

Why is it that 5% of the population controls 95% of the wealth? For starters, the are not lucky or accidentally become wealthy. The wealthy get that way by doing things in a certain way. Let us begin with a quick lesson on financial literacy.

To begin your road to riches you must first understand how your wealth is determined and know how to create wealth. Tracking your net worth is the key to determining how wealthy you are. Your net worth is the value of all of your assets, minus the total of all of your liabilities. Put another way, it is what you own minus what you owe. If you owe more than you own, you have a negative net worth. If you own more than you owe you will have a positive net worth.

Income is simply money you bring in.

Expenses is money you spend.

An asset is any item of economic value owned by an individual which pays them. The tradition definition is simply anything of value that is owned. The tradition definition is perhaps why 95% of the population is not wealthy because they don’t understand it’s true meaning.

A liability is an obligation that legally binds an individual to settle a debt. When one is liable for a debt, they are responsible for paying the debt or settling a wrongful act they may have committed. A liability is basically something that is costing you money over a period of time.

So what are people buying on payday?

The poor class of people buy stuff on payday. You know, the stuff that they find at the flee market, garage sales and the dollar store that they really don’t need to survive, yet their homes are filled with these stuff. I remember when I lived this way…always looking for the bargains and buying stuff because it was so cheap.

The middle class are mistaken as the wealthy because they buy a lot of flashy liabilities. Their income is probably near or above the six figure mark, however due to their spending habits their income is being put into liabilities resulting in that same six figure income going right out through their expenses. These liabilities include the fancy cars, the 50-feet yacht, the 2 week vacation at a 5 star resort, all which have probably been purchased with their favorite credit card.

Now by no means am I trying to make anyone feel bad about their spending habits. I am just trying to educate you on why the rich are getting richer, the poor getting poorer and the middle class is stressed out and slowly being eliminated.

The wealthy buy assets with their income. These assets then generate more income and they use that to buy more assets. As an example, Joe Millionaire earned $15,000 last month. After paying his monthly expenses he was left with $10,000. Joe took that $10,000 and bought himself a coin-operated car wash that generates on average $4,500 per month.

The following month Joe earned $15,000 + $4,500 from his car wash (which he did not have to be there to operate) for a total income of $19,500. After paying his monthly expenses, Joe had $14,500 left over. With that he put a down-payment on a rental property which generates $2,500/month after his mortgage and other cost associated with owning that rental property is paid.

On the third month, Joe earned $15,000 + $5,000 from the car wash and $2,500 from his rental property for a total monthly income of $22,500. Joe is pleased with his results over the past 3 months so he decided to buy himself a brand new luxury car that will cost him about $1,100 per month to own and operate. Joe doesn’t mind though because the income he makes from his rental property alone will cover those expenses with money left over.

What are you buying on payday? A bunch of stuff, liabilities or assets? It’s your money, you decide how you want to live…poor, middle-class or wealthy?

Have A Wealthy Day!

What are people going to say about you after you have lived a long (and hopefully successful) life? Have you ever taken the time to look far into your future and see your ending; you know…the happily ever after ending? It’s a mighty good place to begin your day as you can create whatever type of ending you want.

Take a moment today an sit quietly by yourself, free from all distractions. Now in your mind’s eye picture that you are celebrating your 80th birthday. As you enter the ballroom, you find all your family, friends and past business associates awaiting your arrival.

As the night progresses and everyone is awaiting the cake, the host of your party calls for everyone’s attention. After a moment of breaking the ice, the speaker calls upon 4 individuals to give a speech about you and the life you have lived so far. The first person is a family member, the second person is former business associate, the third person is a community member and the fourth is your spouse. What is it that that you would want these 4 individuals to say about your life?

This is a valuable exercise as it helps you clearly define what your core values are. As you visualize what each individual says about you, mentally you are creating the lifestyle you want to be remembered for. This will help you stay focused on taking the daily actions needed to physically create that lifestyle or that ending. All things are created twice; first through mental visualization and secondly, through your physical reality as a result of your actions.

When you constantly keep the ending in mind, you have a good understanding of where you are currently and it helps you determine the actions you need to take when dealing with day to day circumstances.

Beginning with the end in mind is more than just positive thinking; it allows you to create your future; first on the mental level by looking deep within you. And when you have such a deep understanding of who you are and where you are going, the whole decision-making process becomes a whole lot easier for you. With this clear vision, no longer will you struggle when it is decision-making time as you will know which actions are inline with your first creation or you ending.
